Most of potential customers of satellite television prefer cable TV because they think that the installations and equipments will burn a hole in their pockets. Contrarily, these satellite TV installations and equipment are not costly at all. Another myth is that satellite TV is costly, not only to install but also to ensure undisrupted services. People often think that these channel packages cost more than cable operators while the truth is that satellite television facilitates cutting down on the cost of watching TV since there are packages to choose from. With the help of packages, viewers can opt for only those channels that they like to watch. In addition to packages, certain studies even suggest that the per channel monthly cost also reduces, if you opt for direct-to-home transmission.

3. Certain local channels are not available

Certain viewers may also believe that local channels may not be available when they switch to satellite television. However, more often than not, reputed service providers will include the local channels as a standard offering. All the channels would have information about the timing and the programs to be aired on them.

4. The channels across different receivers remain the same

Satellite TV allows complete flexibility, thus, one would not be restricted to watching only one channel across all receivers. A standard satellite TV set would have four receivers and would enable different channels at all times. The only connected and common resource is the satellite dish.
